Kent Washington January 2 1945.
Regular meeting of the City Council,present Mayor Dunbar,
Councilmen,Morrill,Sells,Shoff,Thompson,Worth.
Minutes of December 18,read and approved;
Police -report read and filed;
Councilman 'North recommended that a street light be installed
on Temperance Street batween Hazel and Alvord Aves.
Councilman Thompson reported on the drainage condition on
Temperance Street,stating that as soon as the sidewalks are
laid along Temperance St.the condition could be corrected.
'Motion was made and passed for the clerk to secure figures
from the State Hi -way Dept.in regard to stripping the main
Highway streets through the City.
Resolution # 259 was adopted by the unanimous vote of the
council present,in regard to adopting the Kent News journal
as the City official paper.
Resolution # 260 was adopted by the unanimous vote of the
Council present,giving the regular paid police one day off
with pays for the Dear of 1945.
Letter read from J.A.Fallgreen City engineer,in regard to
have permmission to hire extra engineers when he could not
be present himself to excute the work,or as his helpers.
