Regular meeting of the City Council ,present Mayor Dunbar, Councilmen,Miller,Morrill,Sells Shoff,Thompson,Worth. Minutes of November 20th.read and approved ; Police report read and filed ; The finance committee recommended to the council that they buy Trunk Sewer Bonds Nos.25,28,29 & 30.of $500.00 each.of the City of Kent*,on the 2% basis,s resolution was prepared by the City Attorney and presented at this meeting,A motion was made and passed by the unanimous vote of the council present to adopt resolution # 256 buy- ing the four trunk Sewer -Bonds ,that were offered for sale by Earl F. Townsend & Co of Seattle, Wash. at the cost -of -$2692.49. The money being borrowed from the Current Expense Fund,andleving the money of the B.I.&.R. invested in Gov' t Securities.Resolution # 256 being a part of these minutes. Councilman Thompson reported on the condition of the drainage box on East Smith Street in front of the Meredith home,that it was in bad condition,and should be replaced with tile,and also the one on Jason and Smith Street was in the same condition.The drainage committee was given power to act in regard to the replacement of the old wooden drains with suitable drain pipe. Mr. Fallgreen our engineer recommended a Mr. Lester E.Britt,to help him out in his work,on account of ill heelth.Motion was made and passed to employ# Mr. Brdtts as our engineer when Mr.Fallgreen could not attend to our work. . Motion was made and passed by the unanimous vote of the council present to have the clerk draw up a resolution to purchase U.S. Government Securitied to the emount ,from each fund, that was not needed at this time.The resolution to be drawn so it could be adopted Tues.Dec.5th.at 7:30 O'clock P.M.at an adjourned meeting So that the investment could come under the 6th.War Loan drive ,end- ing December 16 ,1944;There not being a regular meeting until Dec. 18th. The chief police recommended that the City Council would install a red light on the City Building so that they could see it from all parts of town,and to have the cross walks repainted at the Senior Hi-School.Motion was made and passed to put it in the hands of the police committee for action as they seen fit. Mr. Don Walker of Prospect and James street,made a complaint to the eouncil,that there were some very rough and wet streets in the City. Mr. Straub of Temperance St.reported on the drainage conditions up on tivord and Temperance St, stating that there should be some- thing done in regard to the water drainning down the side of Temperance Street making it imposspble to cross the parking strips. And also making a request for a street light on Temperance Street between Hazel and Alvord.The requests were referred to the Light & Drainage committee with power to act.
