Kent 'Washington October 2,1944.
Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Dunbar,
Councilmen,Farman,Miller,Morrill,Sells,Shoff,Thompson,Worth.
Minutes of Sept.18,read and approved;
Police report read and filed;
Councilman Miller reported on the damage claim that is pending
against the City',-of Mrs. Mae L.Buck,with little progress as to
a settlement.
Councilman Thompson reported on the request of the Reynold' s lot
to be cleared of blackberry vines,thet it has been completed.
Councilman Worth inquired why the hoods could not be removed
from the street lights at this time ,Councilman Thompson said he
woul obtain the opinon of the Defense council in regard to the
removal of same ,at the next regular meeting of the Council.
The Fire Chief was requested to write a letter to Sears & ,Williams
in regard to the removal of the lettuce crates on north R.R.Ave.
Motion was made and passed by the unamious vote of the Council
to place the Buget and Tax levy on its final passage ,ordinance
numbers ,Budget No.746,Legy No.747.
Councilman made a motion and passed by the vote of the Council ,
to draw up a resolution against the PUD,and Initiative No. 25.
Motion was made and passed for the Street Committee to have
power to act in regard to the repairing of the curbs and side-
walks on intersections.
