Regular meeting of the City Council present ,Mayor Dunber,Council- men,Farmen,Miller,Sells,Shoff,Thompson,Worth. Minutes of Sept.5th.read and approved; Reports of ,Clerk' s Treasurer's and Budget read and filed; Councilman Thompson presented sketch of comfort station,drawn by the City Engineer,to be located in the City park at First and Gowe St.There was quite a discussion followed as to the location that it would be more fitted to place it jiust north of the fish pound,end a motion was passed to have the committee and the engine- er draw it on the Railway compeny88 plat map and secure permission from them to change the location to the new site .Motion was made and passed to have double fixtures ,and a place large enough for the park earetaker.' s tools to be stored therein. Motion was made and passed to have the Fire Chief write a letter to the Company that owns the lettuce ere*is that are piled on the north side of Armstrong' s bottling works on north Railroad Ave. ,to request .them to remove same owing to creaming a fire hazard. Mr. Marlowe's request for an extension of the water main to his place ,was not acted upon at this time on account of the labor shortage situation. Ordinance # 745 passed by the unanimous vote of the council present,to repeal ordinance # 735 , .end amend ordinance # 7262 Section 2, to 3eyy 4 mills indteed of 2 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation of the City. Motion was passed by the unanimous vote of the Council present, to adopt the budget as recommended for 1945 ,8nd have a notice published in the local paper setting the hearing on the 2nd.day of October21944,at 81oclock P.M. Discussion on the number of Taverns in the City,whether they should be reduced in number or not ,but no action taken. Mr. Rod reported to the Council that the sewer by the seeptie tank was about finished ,and it would require a large amount of back fill to complete the job.
