Regular meeting of the City Couneil,present Mayor Dunbar, Councilmen,Farman,Miller,Morrill,Sells,Shoff,Thompson,Worth. Minutes read and approved of January,17 ,1944. Police Report read and filed. Communications read from the Northern Pacific Railway 8o , and from the Office of Price Adminstration. Resolution # 246 read and adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council.Whereas the City of Kent has eveiable funds ,without the immediate necessity for the use thereof,in the Current Exp- ence Fund,the Street Fund,Park Fund,Wer Liquor Tax Fund,State Aid Fund,and the Cumulative Building Fund;And it is deemed ad- visable by the City Council that money from the said several funds be invested in United States Government War Bonds , (series G ) in the aggreate amount of Twenty Three Thousand Dollers , ($23,000.00) . Mr.Gus VanWarring issued a complaint against the Police Dept. for shooting his dog,and not notifying him in due time of the impounding of his dog,so he could reclaim same before it was exterminated.The Mayor placed the complaint in the hands of the Police committee for investigation. Mr. Ray Higgens requested of the City Council,if it was possible for the City to open a driveway on Kensington Street,to get into his property, It was placed in the hands of the Street Committee to investigate . Motion was made to sell the required right-way to the Northern Pacific Railway,their tracks that crosses our property at the water headwerks,they wishing to obtain a strip of land fifty feet wide on each side of their tracks,containing 3.10 acres,st the sum of $50.00 per acre.passed by the unamious vote of the Council.
