Regular meeting of the City Council,present Mayor Dunbar
Councilmen,Farman,Morr111,Sells,Shoff, Thompson.

Report,read and filed.
Communications from the Fire Dept,in regard to appointment
of H.V.Anderson,Walter Cook,end Dan O'Connell to regular
members of the Fire Dept.A motion was made and passed to
except them. Acceptance of the resignation of L.H.Cavenaugh
from the Fire Dept.
The lease papers were presented to the Cou nail for $ 20.00
per month,for the rent of the space on the second floor,by
the O.PA. board but was rejected by a motion that it was no
more then fair that they should pay $ 35.00 per month.
Councilman Sells made a motion and passed,that the lease
papers be returned to the O.P.A. and be remade for the amount
of $35.00 per-month,starting January 15 ,1944.
Councilman Shoff reoommended that the N.P.Railway co. pay
$50.00 per acre for the land out at the headworks,they re-
quire for additional rightswey.
Farman
Councilman reported that the prowler car rind job ,and valve
grind would cost from the lowest bidder,$47.50,and that bid
was from the Kent Motors, .He also reported on the efficiency
of the new radio two way set of the Police Dept.
The Mayor appointed Dr. C.M.Miller to fill the vacancy of Mr.
Neden,and received a unanimous vote from the council on the
appointment of Dr. Miller.
Bouncilman Farman reported that he had a request from Mr. •
Moon, ( his wife being killed in an accident on the R.R.
crossing at Smith St. ) if the City Council could not do -
something to make that crossing safer for the publio ,to c
cross.A motion was made for the Clerk to write 8 letter to
the N.P.R.R.Co.esking them if they could better the
condition at the Smith St. crossing.
