Kent Washington December 6,1943.
Regular meeting of the City Council present,Mayor Dunbar,
councilmen,Farman,Morrill,Sells,Shoff,Thompson,Worth.
Minutes of November 15th. read and approved.
Police report read and filed:
Comunications from Chicago Milwaukee and St.Peul R.R.Co
in regard to the rough crossing at meeker street',and re-
moving of wig -wag signals from the center of the street,
and placing them at the side were read and pleeed on file.
An estimated amount for the paving of the alley,between
First and Second Ave.between Gowe and Titus Streets,was
given by the Auburn Concrete Construction Company in the
amount of $4500.00 .Some of the tax -payers were present at
the meeting,and decided that owing to the amount that it
would cost at this time,they would consider it to stand
until after the war.
Resolution # 245 adopted and passed,providing for the
extermimation of dogs impounded;for the catching and boarding
of said dogs and for the redemption thereof.
The mayor appointed a committee from the various clubs
sehool,and churehes,to recommened what was needed as to
a civic center for the children of the community to
occupy their time,insteed of being on the streets.
Mr.Rod sugfested to the council that it was the right time
of the year to spread gravel on the streets.
Councilman Morrill made a motion and passed to purchase
crushed gravel from the county as needed.
The finance committee reported that they had not got in
touch with Mr. Ross in regard to the payments of the
damages caused to the police car,,or investigated the
labor costs of"the Kent Motors for fixing the police car.
