Regular meeting of the City Council presenjt,Mayor Dunbar,
Councilmen,Farman;Naden,Sells ,Shoff,Thompson.
Minutes of November lst.read and approved.
Clerk's Treasurers Budget and Health officer' s reports read
and filed.
Councilman Naden reported that Mr. Ross did not get in touch
with the finance committee ,in regard to the accident with the
police car.The committee will report at the next meeting.
Councilman Farman reported on the dog situation,haveing found
a place to keep the dogs after being caught,the fee will be fiftjs
cents per day,but before the police start picking up dogs ,there
will be a 14tee put in the news paper instructing dog owners to
get a license at the office of the City Clerk for their dogs.
The City Clerk was instructed by the Council to draw up a
resolution increaseing the fee for the keep of a dog from 30�/per
day to 50 cents per day.
Councilman Farman recomenddd that the police dept have a
cash draw installed for to keep the bail money in until' it is
taken care of by the Police judge ,and turned over to the City.
Councilman Naden made amMotion for the police committee to see
that a proper draw was purchased.
Councilman Farman made a motion for the police dept to pur
chase a sub-machine gun,at a cost of about $63.00 .
Councilman Farman made a motion for the purchase of a two
way radio,and speaker system for the police dept. ,to be ordered
now and paid for out of the 1944 budget.
Councilman Farman made a motion to grant a license to the
Sheehan Auto Park,for a trailer camp.
Councilman Thompson made a motion to abolish wig-wag islands
on all rail road crossings in the City,and for the companies to
install over heed,or suitable ones,that does not obstruct the
street in any way. ,and for the City Clerk to write a letter of
this motion to the R.R.Companies interested.
The prices on fire ,theft ,and collision insurance for the fire
trucks and police car ,submitted by Mr. Holland ,was referred to
the Police & Fire Committee for investigation.
Mr. Max Bauer made a complaint of the condition of the alley
in the rear of his place of buisness ,he suggested that about the
only way to fix it would be to pave it , that most of the property
owners would be in favor of this move at this time .A motion was
made for the engineer to be instructed to give an estimate on the
cost of such a prodject as to paving and drainage .
Mr Rod reported to the council the fine pewer equipment they
had purchased for them to use ,and had tried it out ,and found it
to be all it was cracked tp to be .
