Regular meeting of the City Council; present 'Mayor Wooden &
Councilmen Barnes , Morrill, Naden, Sells , Shoff & Thompson.

Minutes of the meeting of August 7 , last , read & Apgroved.
Clerks report , Treasurers report and the Budget report was
presented and filed.
Bids on a pickup truck, for the 'eater Dept. , were opened and
read as follows : George Hallock $669.20 , Kent Motors $714.98 and
Midway Motors $714.80 and upon motion the bid was awarded to
George 0. Hallock for $669 .20.
Letter was read from the Milwaukee Ry. Co. , in reguard to a
signal at the Willis Street Crossing.
RESOLUTION NO. 223, borrowing money from the Cur. Exp. Fund
and the Bond Interest & Red. Fund for the benefit of the P.R. I.
Fund, was read find adopted unimously.
A speaker for the proposed Cycle Club spoke for a few minutes
on the benefits of such a club in Kent ; the matter was taken
under advisement.
Mr. Suliven, the State Insurance Commisioner and State Fire
Marshall , spoke to the Council on the fire Sunday Morning, he
praised the Fire Department and complented them on the fine work
done at the fire.
