Regular meeting of the City Council: present Mayor Wooden,and
Councilmen,Dunbar ,Hardy,Miller,Naden,Thompeon,Sells,& Barnes.
Minutes of the last Regular meeting, July,6, read and approve
d.
Comunications; Copy of the letter,to Mr.Herber,from the Street
committee,regard to steps at The First National Bank building, .
7vas read,and approved.
Committee on fuel oil ordiance,and City Attorney reported on
ordiance to be drawn up,and ask to have,an other two weeks,and
same was granted.
Unanimous vote was cast for, an emergency Ordiance,.for the
Police fund,Special Police fund $ 350.00 Police expense fund.
100.00. Date of hearing set for Monday,Aug.2,1937.
Resolution past,That the regular paid police have two days a-
month off with pay,beginning Jan. first,1937-.and to continue
until changed,by a further resolution of The City Council.
Motion was made to give the Street committee,power to act , . on
wideing East Gowe Street at Kennebeck,by usein= 30 ft.of Lot
14 Block 7,W.C.I .Cols First Add. To Kent, .
J.J.Cody' of east Smith St.complained to the City Council,about
the Water Dept.turnning off his water ,on account of a large-
-break in the main line,without serving him notice,and claims
that it blew his tank up.Tt was referred to the water committe
Mr.Naden reported that he had sold two lots,To Mrs.Liddle ,in
Block 1 Clark's First Add. to Kent , .Lots 17&18, $ 150,001
Water committee was to look over water Ordiance.
Clerks report,Treasurere report,and Budget report for Month of
June ,was presented and filed.
