HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Meeting - Council - Minutes - 01/16/1933 41 Kent , Washington, January 16 , 1933 i Regular meeting of the City Council; present Mayor Boucher and Councilmen Boyker , Dunbar, Dunn, Hardy, Jenks , Naden and Wooden. Minutes of the meeting of January 3, last , read and approv- ed. Clerks report for December and the Fire Department report for the year 1932, presented and filed. The Finance Committee were directed to draft -a Resolution for next meeting, protesting the unfair parctice and exces- sive cost of the State Examiners. Attorney presented deed to property on east side of First Avenue , between Gowe and Titus , made to the Queen Investment Co. and the same was refered to the Finance Committee to -sell for the amount of $400.00 plus the taxes. A comuniaation was read from the meeting of the Mayors •of . cities of the State , recomending that the Hiway Laws of ' the State 'be amended so that incorporated cities and towns will receive a portion of be gasoline tax, and upon motion the same was adopted. An ordinance was presented, .fixing the salaries of city officers and employed, and upon motion placed upon its final passage and upon roll call lost by the following vote; Coun- cilmen Boyker, Dunn, Jenks and Wooden voting "No" and Coun- cilmen Dunbar, Hardy and Naden voting "Aye" .
